The Army MWR Library is the Center of the Community
The Army MWR Library offers access to books, movies, games, online learning tools, and fun events for Soldiers, Families, and DoW Civilians. Whether you need to study, relax with a book, or join a community program, your library is here to help.

Who Can Use the Library?
- Active-duty military (Army, Air Force, Marine Corps, Navy, and Coast Guard)
- Members of the Reserve components and National Guard
- Retired military, including retired from the Reserves and National Guard
- Medal of Honor recipients and veterans with 100% service-connected disabilities
- Eligible Family members who are officially sponsored by authorized patrons in the above categories
- DoW and Coast Guard Civilians, including appropriated and nonappropriated fund employees, when stationed outside the United States; stateside eligibility is contingent upon resource availability
How to Get a Library Card?
- Visit your local MWR Library with your DoW ID
- Register for an account at the front desk
- Once registered, you can check out materials
- Use your account at any DoW MWR Library worldwide!
Spark Robotics Club
Every 2nd Tuesday at 4 p.m.
The Spark Robotics Club is here to spark kids' imaginations and love of learning... using robots! All ages* are welcome to join us at the library every 2nd Tuesday of the month at 4 p.m. to tinker with robots. It's free to participate!
*All ages are welcome, but this club will focus on kids ages 7-12.
Crafternoon Take & Make
3rd Thursday
Hays Library will be providing Take & Make craft kits every third Thursday.
There's fun to be had for all ages!
To get yours, stop by Hays Library, the kits will be on a table at the front entrance for your convenience from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m.
They are first come, first serve, while supplies last. Please, only take what you need so others can beat the boredom too!
Playdough Playdate
Last Friday of every month at 10 AM
Prepare to squish, smoosh, roll, and flatten some dough! Every playdate will have a theme to maximize the fun! The library will provide tools, mats, and playdough for patrons ages 2+ (that includes those young at heart!) to create. Meet new friends while playing playdough!
Space is limited. Call the library to sign up!
S.T.E.A.M. Take & Make
4th Thursday
The S.T.E.A.M. (Science, Technology, Engineering, Art, and Math) Take 7 Make is a way for children to expand their knowledge and explore their creativity offering them a way to learn how & why things work the way they work.
They are first come, first serve, while supplies last. Please, only take what you need so others can beat the boredom too!
Storytime
Wednesday | 10:00 am
Story Time provides the opportunity for parents/caregivers to engage in a fun activity with their children. This program encourages a lifelong love of learning.
Make A Hobby
Every 3rd Tuesday | 1 p.m. - 2 p.m.
Make A Hobby is a fun, cozy, low-stress craft program for adults! Try new crafts and make a new hobby for yourself!
It's free to attend and supplies will be provided. Space is limited, so call the library at (571) 801-2176 to sign up.
