SKIES Instructional Programs

Stewart-Hunter Youth Sports and SKIES Instructional Programs offer a variety of quality instructional program options for children & youth living on Stewart & Hunter. Instructional programs are generally scheduled in several sessions throughout the year in various Family & MWR facilities on post.

Our philosophy promotes, supports, and encourages the development of character, athleticism, and healthy lifestyle skills. We believe all children should have the opportunity to learn, grow, and build lasting relationships in a fun, safe, and positive environment.

Instructors

Instructional Programs offers a free training program to our incoming faculty that is suitable to use for future employment. A background clearance is required and CYS will work with Instructors to assist in days and times which are most convenient for the Instructor. Ideas for classes include but are not limited to the following: cooking, sewing, scrapbooking, fashion design, cultural dance and dress, conversational foreign languages, fitness, fun with games, woodworking, computer graphics, web page making, robotics, photography, metal work, arts, crafts, automobile repair, bike repair, costumes, make-up and grooming, pet care and reading, to name just a few!

Join the Child & Youth Services (CYS) family as a child/youth Instructor. Instructional Programs is looking for caring volunteer instructors for the School of Arts, School of Sports, School of Academics, and School of Life Skills. Our classes serve infants through high school in a wide variety of subjects and interests. Pick up a Volunteer Instructor Packet from Parent Central Services or contact the Instructional Programs Director at 767-3781!

Withdrawal Request Procedure

An Instructional Programs Withdrawal Request form must be submitted to Parent Central Services or your class Instructor, no later than two (2) weeks prior to the last day of the month in order to avoid additional charges. Non-attendance does not garner an automatic withdraw from a program. After the initial enrollment fee, instructional programs are billed on the 15th of every month.  Failure to meet financial obligations concerning instructional fees will result in a Request for Garnishment (DD-139) by the Instructional Programs Specialist. In the case of PCS orders or a medical emergency, please contact your program director for an Exception to Policy. Exceptions to this and all policies will be made only by the Director on an individual basis.
