Hallstrom Lake offers two playgrounds, a fishing pier, and restrooms.
Georgia DNR and FS/HAAF Permits are required to fish at Hallstrom Lake.

Check-In

Reservations taken no more than 30 days in advance. Reservations require a minimum 1 night deposit.

Marina
The Lotts Island Marina has boat slips available for long-term docking. These slips have water and electrical hook ups and are located on the Forest River. This coastal waterway has direct access to the open waters of the Atlantic Ocean.
The area also has a fishing pier for those land-lovers who want to wet a hook or drop a crab basket. The dock is a popular crabbing spot, so come early and remember: only 2 crab baskets per group.
A Georgia DNR fishing permit is all that is required to fish at Lotts Island pier.
Private berthing at Lotts Island Marina is available for a monthly fee of $6 per foot. The Marina has a private gate, water, and electrical. It is open to all users, but space is limited.

Access to the Rifle/Pistol/Archery Range on Fort Stewart & 3D Archery Range on Hunter AAF is through the Low Country Adventure Centers. Patrons sign out a lane, pick up target and access pass, then proceed to the range. After completion of shooting event, they return their access pass and target to the Low Country Outdoor Center.
Hunter AAF 3D Archery Range
Hunter AAF Outdoor Recreation 3D Archery Range will operate from 11 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. on Saturday, Sunday, and Federal Holidays.
Patrons must sign in at the HAAF Low Country Adventure Center off Perimeter Road. Groups are limited to 4 per group. Shooting groups will register for a 2-hour shooting block. There are 3 shooting points with a total of 8 different targets. Targets will be changed each week to provide course changes. Distances range from 15 to 30 yards.
Cost is $5 per person per 2-hour block.
Rifle and Pistol Range - HAAF
Fees
- Short Range: $10/ day (Time may be shortened during busy hours, or when a waiting list is established.)
- Long Range: $15 for a 2-hour block
Safety Requirements
To ensure a safe shooting environment, participants are required to have a second person on the range at all times, along with a POV which can be used in case of an emergency. We regret any inconvenience this may cause.
Here's what you do:
1) Visit Bldg. 8454 (HAAF Low Country Adventure Center) with a buddy to pay and pick up targets
2) Drive to the range & shoot
Range Closures
During the year, the range may be closed to facilitate mandatory controlled burning in the B4 training area down range. Dates are determined by weather & wind conditions. Shooters are encouraged to contact the HAAF Low Country Adventure Center at (912) 315-9554 to confirm range hours of operation before venturing out to shoot. The range will always reopen as burning is completed for the posted day.
Please check the above link to confirm your weapon fits the criteria. Weapons not listed will not be allowed on the range. You may request additional weapons be added, and these will be reviewed by the Installation Safety and Range Control Safety Offices. If approved, they will be added to the list.
There are 8 shooting lanes w/shooting distances of 10 to 100 yards.
Rifle Long Range
(Open on scheduled dates that will be announced.)
This range is at the Red Cloud Echo Range on Fort Stewart, off Hwy 119 North. We will have paper targets at ranges of 100 meters to 500 meters and steel targets at 750 meters and 1,000 meters.By Appointment Only
Range keys may be checked out by certified individuals during normal operating hours at Bldg. 8454. Patrons must have completed the certification process through Morale, Welfare and Recreation before keys may be assigned. Please contact either office to schedule a class.
(Note: Thanksgiving and Christmas Day closed).

Skeet and Trap Range

Warrior Adventure Quest (WAQ) is a Department of the Army-approved and endorsed program for all Army units. WAQ is designed to recreate the adrenaline rush of combat action through supervised, controlled, high adventure activities which are provided by FMWR Outdoor Recreation staff.
