Kayaking the Canoochee

Get ready for an unforgettable outdoor experience on one of Georgia’s most scenic waterways! Join Outdoor Recreation for a guided paddle along the beautiful, “tea-colored” Canoochee River on Saturday, May 16th from 8:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m.

Participants will meet at Holbrook Recreation Area (Bldg. 8325) before launching into a morning adventure perfect for all skill levels. This early start not only helps you beat the heat, but also offers the best chance to spot local wildlife, including alligators, birds, and other native species.

You’ll enjoy a fully supported trip. Registration includes a kayak, paddle, personal flotation device (PFD), and shuttle service. Experienced guides will lead the way, helping you navigate the winding river while building your confidence on the water.

Space is limited, so be sure to register prior to the trip. To reserve your spot, visit the Low Country Adventure Center or call (571) 801-4268/69.

Don’t miss this chance to explore the natural beauty of the Canoochee River and kick off your day with adventure!

DETERMINATION

FY26MurphChallenge-750x421.jpg

May 22, 2026 | 8-9AM
The Murph Challenge
Named in honor of Lt. Michael Murphy (US Navy – SEAL Team DVT-1), who was a focused warrior and great American who wanted to serve this great country and the people who make it what it is. Though this workout is named in honor of Lt. Murphy, we participate in this hero workout in honor of all of our fallen service members. Since 9/11, approximately 7,000 military members have made the ultimate sacrifice in Iraq, Afghanistan, Syria, Pakistan, and the Philippines.
What Is The Murph Challenge?

A CrossFit Workout of the Day (WOD), where your final time determines your score!

  • For Time:
    • 1-Mile Run
    • 100 Pull-Ups
    • 200 Push-Ups
    • 300 Squats
    • 1-Mile Run

The pull-ups, push-ups, and squats may be partitioned as needed.

Complete the WOD as an individual or gather your team/group (the goal is participation in honor of our fallen service members).
